Technology

Technology is integrated into St Mary of the Cross to enhance teaching and learning, and to prepare students for an evolving digital world.

St Mary of the Cross recognises that engaging with the online world demands proficiency across all curriculum areas, including literacy, numeracy, the humanities, science, and technology. We value the development of students’ skills in critical and creative thinking, ethical reasoning, intercultural understanding, and personal and social capabilities, enabling them to confidently apply their knowledge and use technology with purpose and empowerment.

Technology use is aligned with educational goals, and balanced with cyber safety and digital wellbeing learning opportunities. Students in Prep and Year 1 are supplied with 1-1 iPads equipped with appropriate learning apps, and students in Years 2-6 are supplied with 1-1 Chromebooks.

The use of digital technologies and resources are utilised as an inclusive educational tool, offering greater personalisation and differentiation for students with diverse learning needs.
