At St Mary of the Cross Primary School, we are embarking on a process to implement a Positive Behaviour for Learning approach.

Our community recognises the importance of creating environments that underpin positive behaviour and values. In 2018, we have launched and unpacked our new school values as well as developing our school-wide approaches to supporting all students to be successful.

Our four school values are:

We align our four school values with our faith and scripture.

Honouring the feelings, wishes or rights of others.

‘ So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them’. Matthew 7:12

Always doing your best.

‘ Not that I have already obtained or already reached that goal, but I press on because Christ Jesus has made me his own’.Philippians 3: 12

To treat all people fairly and equally.

‘Love one another as I have loved you’ John 13:34

The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles.

‘Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice’. Psalm 112:5

As part of our PB4L (Positive Behaviour for Learning) implementation, we have launched our positive acknowledgement. Throughout the school, children are positively acknowledged for their behaviour choices, particularly around our school values. Research informs us that an acknowledgement system supports the behavioural and social needs and strengths of individual children.
